Course Name: NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting Course
Cost: $250
Course Length: 8 hours
Course Goal: To provide the basic KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ATTITUDE necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting.
This is a 2-day course. First day is 6 hrs. classroom setting, Second day is range time learning to shoot your rifle. Students will take the Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and receive the NRA course completion certificate.
Students will learn:
NRA’s rules for safe gun handling
rifle parts and operation
ammunition
shooting fundamentals
range rules
shooting from bench rest, prone, sitting, standing, and kneeling positions
field stripping your AR-15
Proper cleaning and lubrication
and continued opportunities for skills development.
Students will receive:
the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook,
NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure,
Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet,
take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and
receive the NRA course completion Certificate.
You will be using your iron sights on range time and learn to zero in (sight in) and adjust for windage & elevation for accuracy.
